Our Belief

Repair is
not lesser
than new.

Fast fashion has made us forget that a garment, properly cared for, can last a lifetime. A skilled mend is not a compromise — it is a commitment to quality over convenience. We believe in the value of objects that carry memory, the craft of hands that know fabric, and the simple satisfaction of a garment restored to its fullest self. Bring us the torn, the frayed, the moth-eaten, the beloved. We'll bring them back.

Our Craft

Time-honoured
techniques

Centuries of textile craft, applied with modern precision.

01
French Reweaving
Traditional European Technique

Thread-by-thread reconstruction of the original weave structure. Virtually undetectable even under close inspection. The gold standard for precious suiting fabrics.

02
Sashiko
Japanese Folk Craft

Running-stitch patterns traditionally used to reinforce or repair working garments. Now a beloved visible mending art that transforms damage into decorative geometry.

03
Swiss Darning
Duplicate Stitch Method

Also called duplicate stitch — a needle technique that mimics the knit stitch precisely, rebuilding fabric in knitwear repairs with remarkable invisibility.

04
Kantha
South Asian Running Stitch

Layers of cloth united with rows of simple running stitches, creating a rippled texture that is both structurally strong and visually rich. Ideal for lightweight fabrics.

05
Ladder Stitch
Blind Closure Technique

An invisible seam closure worked from the outside of a garment. The standard for clean, undetectable mending of split seams in soft or delicate fabrics.

06
Boro Patching
Japanese Textile Tradition

Layering and stitching scraps of fabric as aesthetic repair. The Japanese boro tradition celebrates accumulated repair as evidence of care, making visible the history of the garment.

Artful Repair

Visible
mending
as art.

Not every repair needs to hide. Visible mending embraces the history of a garment — turning damage into beauty, wear into texture, repair into expression. We offer decorative mending that transforms your clothing into something genuinely one-of-a-kind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Darning is an affordable mending technique where a piece of fabric is patched under a rip to stabilise the area. We then stitch over the rip to make the repair.

The result is visible, but very strong, and our tailors are skilled at making their work as discreet as possible. Rips in the crotch, along pockets, near seams and under cuffs can be fixed with darning, as they’re not visible areas. We recommend invisible mending for rips in the front of a jacket, the elbow area, or front of the knee.

This is the most common mending issue we see. See this blog post for our advice on why it happens and 4 ways to make your trousers last longer.

We don’t have a price guide online, because our mending services vary widely. Some repairs can be performed quickly, while others require a lot of careful craftsmanship. If you want to know how much your mending will cost, request a free quote.
